This site was born from the needs of the people who attended #barcampjozi in October 2009.  Us geeks want to meat once a month for some chow, while having our minds tweaked and twiddled.

We've defined geeks as people of all fields that have a intense interest in what they are doing.  Especially those in the science, IT, technology and engineering fields.  Think of it this way, if you are the type of person who loves the articles in New Scientist, you'll probably like what we have to offer.

We also want to promote all geeky events in Johannesburg and expand that to all of South Africa.  There is the Drupal Users Group (lovingly known as DRUG), TEDx Johannesburg and many more.
